With deep sorrow, the community mourns the passing of David Pineda, a cherished 17-year-old student of Monsignor Farrell High School, whose life was tragically cut short in a devastating accident in Staten Island. His untimely death has left a profound void in the hearts of his family, friends, and classmates, while the memories of his kindness, warmth, and spirit will be treasured forever.
David was known for his genuine heart, quiet strength, and the ability to bring people together. As a member of the junior class, he embodied compassion, friendship, and resilience, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him. His presence brightened classrooms, gatherings, and everyday moments, and his loss is deeply felt by those who valued his gentle guidance and thoughtful nature. Though his time was brief, the impact of his life will endure through the relationships he nurtured and the joy he brought to others.
Our deepest condolences go to David’s father, Dave, and his brother, Peter, who now face the unimaginable grief of losing a beloved son and brother. Their family, already no stranger to hardship, is surrounded by a supportive community of friends, neighbors, and fellow parishioners of Our Lady Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church, who stand together in prayer, comfort, and solidarity.
Visitation services will be held at Casey-McCallum Rice Funeral Home, followed by a funeral Mass at Our Lady Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church. David will be laid to rest at Ocean View Cemetery. Though his life was brief, David Pineda’s legacy of love, kindness, and warmth will never be forgotten. May he rest in eternal peace, reunited with his beloved mother, and continue to inspire all who knew him.
