
An 18-year-old man has been charged in connection with the fatal shooting of a woman in St. Louis.
According to police, Ervin Cage Jr. was taken into custody Tuesday and is facing charges including first-degree murder, unlawful use of a weapon, and two counts of armed criminal action.
The shooting occurred around 1:07 a.m. on October 18, 2025, in the Carr Square neighborhood, in the 1600 block of Biddle Street. Officers responding to the scene found a vehicle that had crashed into a fire hydrant, with a woman inside suffering from gunshot wounds.
The victim, identified as 25-year-old Raykel Thompson of St. Louis, was transported to a hospital in critical condition. Despite medical efforts, she later died from her injuries.
Authorities say Cage is currently being held without bond as the case moves forward.
